Reusing Beads – What You Should Know

Updated

Depending on the material, the opening technique, and the condition, beads can sometimes be reused. Safety and hold always come first, though.

Check before every reuse

  • Is the bead still evenly shaped?
  • Are there sharp edges, cracks, or signs of material fatigue?
  • Is the inner lining clean and intact?
  • Can it be opened in a controlled way and closed flat again?

When to replace them?

Beads that are deformed, damaged, or no longer close reliably get replaced. Do not keep using a bead if it could pinch your own hair or compromise the hold.

Hygiene

Work only with clean tools and hygienically prepared accessories. For a professional application, the hygiene standards of the business also apply.

When in doubt, a new bead is the better choice. A Stessia partner can assess the condition at the re-fitting appointment.
